Evgen (Geno) Gvaladze (ევგენ (გენო) ღვალაძე in Georgian; May 13, 1900 - October 15, 1937) was a famous Georgian jurist, journalist and public benefactor, one of the leaders of the National-Liberation movement of Georgia in 1921-1937.

He was born in a small village (Chiatura district of the Imereti region, Western Georgia). His father Artem F. Gvaladze (1862-1918) was a retired officer of cavalry.

Gvaladze graduated from the Gymnasium in Tbilisi (1920) and from the Juridical Faculty of the Tbilisi State University (1926). In 1920-1921 he vas officer of the National Army of the Democratic Republic of Georgia (DRG). In February-March, 1921 he active participated in the battles against the Bolshevik Russias 11th Red Army in and (near Tbilisi) and against the Turk occupants in Batumi. After the occupation of Georgia by the Russias Red Army he was active participant of the underground National-Liberation movement.

In 1926-1932 Gvaladze was a member of the Board of the Defending Lawyers; in 1935-1937 a Lecturer of the Pedagogical Institute in Gori. In 1916-1923 he published journalistic articles in the Georgian periodical press.

In 1917-1922 Gvaladze was a member of the Social-Democratic (Menshevik) Party of Georgia; in 1926-1937 - leader of the underground conspirative group of the Georgian national political organization "Tetri Giorgi". On May 26, 1922 he was one of the organizers of the first great anti-Russian, peaceful action in Tbilisi and was arrested by the GPU (he was released in July, 1922). In 1922-1924 Gvaladze was a representative of the inter-party underground Committee of Independence of Georgia in Kakheti and active participated in the preparation of the August Uprising of 1924. On August 30, 1924 he was arrested by the GPU (he was released in March, 1925).

Gvaladze and other members of the underground group of "Tetri Giorgi" were arrested by the KGB in August, 1937 and were shot on October 15, 1937, in Tbilisi.
